I've checked out the latest shopping centre just right beside expo station

Changi citypoint!!!

It opened at such ulu place n I wonder who's gonna go there?

I shopped around level 2 and got so excited shops after shops!!

There are so many brands of factory outlet there!!

Nike, Adidas, G2000, Crocs, Fox (children), Esprit, Samsonite, Lacoste.

For some items the discounts are really significant!!!!

OMG!! I bought a couple of nike stuff which totals up to $135 for original price but i paid only $95 which means i saved $40! Now I know where to go for my sports shoe. Its very affordable there! I just randomly pick one shoe up n it's about $70 or $80 a pair!

just shopping at level 2 alone spent so much time, din really had time to explore other levels

I enjoyed shopping there a lot since they have such big walking space n u dun need to cramp walking pass shoppers. I went over the weekends n it ain't that crowded maybe cos of it's location.

I will return there to shop for more, DEFINITELY!

Pupa "Crack" Nail Polish

i've heard of nail polish that 'crack' after you apply them but never have tried before

so this time round when I saw Pupa having it in Takashimaya Watson store, i just buy it without thinking!

it's about $20....

well I thought since it's something different

and there's 2 bottles of nail polish, i'm willing to try for $20

it's great they have pictures for the instructions, it's really dummy proof

Step 1: Apply the white polish and wait for 4 minutes

it's really pigmented and thick, good!

i hate white polishes that are so dilute and transparent

and this is only 1 coat!

Step 2: Apply the Fuchsia colour and within 5 sec you get to see it doing it's work!

I tried to apply strokes but arrrgh!!!

CAN'T!!!!

in few sec it started to "coagulate" and dry up so fast i can't apply strokes!!

it got a little messy and i found out the only way to apply it is to just quickly take a big drop and cover everywhere

don't care ALREADY!!

even if it smudge onto my skin or uneven coat.

VERDICT:

Handling: 4/10

not very easy to handle for the 2nd layer, you need to be very very swift. it's easier for small nail surface. i find it difficult to manage for the big toe.

Colours: 3/10

they only have white base with choice of 3 different 'crack' colours

Price: $20 not that cheap for 2 small bottles

I thought the bottles are bigger, but when I open the box i'm a little disappointed

Novelty: 8/10

something curious and exciting to try out! i like to see how the pink takes its action cracking up!

Overall verdict:

At first i was really skeptical whether this will really work and it did really work! I personally still prefer doing up my own nail art. but I'm glad I bought this to try cos this is to satisfy my long time curiosity. I'm just ok with the end result. it's more of the joy of seeing it cracking up haha!

Tokyo Disneyland Oct '11

on the 2nd day of my honeymoon, we head down to Tokyo Disneyland.

it so happens when we were there, it's the Halloween week

so japaneses are very into cosplay and the rules Disney set for them is to only cosplay Disney characters with no face paint. some rides they may not be suitable to take due to their dressing.

but they are still so game to do it!!! and the weather is just nice and cool for wearing layers of cosplay!

it's the Rabbit year in chinese lunar calendar.....

cos last year was Tiger year, people don't like to get married during Tiger year cos it's like a very "fierce" year

so this year many people get married, and also, cos next year is Dragon year, chinese love to have dragon babies so that's y Rabbit year there's even more people getting married.

Me too got married in Rabbit year but actually I don't care is it Rabbit or Tiger year, it just so happens we married on Rabbit, we didn't plan for it.

furthermore, I don't want a Dragon baby. it's too competitive.

because of chinese love Dragon baby, during the Dragon year, it's a baby boom.

and these Dragon babies will have a hard time looking for pri schools, end up very high in competition for sec school, future schools and flats..... so much competition and "fighting" for a space in anything.

COMPASS is an organization in Sg that takes care of songwriters' interest. To become a member in COMPASS, there are criterias to meet.

I've been wanting to get in but their rules are giving me problems
So my application got stuck for few years.
It's so easy to get in for others due to the opportunities they get which I dun have
There are many ppl who got in easily. They have no idea how difficult it is for me

So recently I received a call fr Fiona. She rem my application got stuck for few years n ask me am I interested to join in the songwriting workshop where it's a sharing session with other songwriters n judges giving comments.

Of cos I say yes! It's like a passport for me to get into COMPASS! since this event is organized by compass, all documents required to become a member in COMPASS will have no problem!

So The venue is held at esplanade library. It's a great event to go for

I have pictures in my iPhone but I can't upload in here.
iPhone can't upload images into blog entries so I will wait till I have a laptop then I put it up

So after that I sign up again, go thru some admin paperwork to get membership
I'm now awaiting COMPASS response

I just got back from Japan about a week ago and that shows how long I've not been blogging!

cos this Japan trip is my honeymoon trip! awesome trip! definitely wanna go back japan again!!

I was away for like 2 weeks, so photos will slowly stream in and be up online. cos Wj take many photos (nothing new, the usual him, but it's good! bring back more memories in the form of pictures)

one of the memorable moments was actually visiting her house in Tokyo. we had a Takoyaki party!!

she has a Takoyaki machine and can make 18 balls at one go. I carried it and found it light!!

me: where can I buy this?

so we bought! it's less than S$50.... it's hard to find in Singapore so YES! I own one now!!
the exact same one as Ikumi!

I'm so going to try it soon. I bought the ingredients already and see if there's time, I wanna do it over the weekend.

when I was at Osaka (origin of Takoyaki), i saw them put tempura flakes in it, i'm going to skip that

first, I don't have that (or else i have to go through the trouble frying that), 2nd it's healthier without it.

My First Car Accident

all I can say to this is I'm very SUAY!

Yesterday is.......SUAY DAY .....

i was at the carpark and already drove out of my lot, on my way out and suddenly one of the stationary Mercedez car came out of its lot and banged me!!!

the feeling of being banged was like playing bumper car, it jerked me hard and my bag flew to the floor.

his car doesn't have much damage except for the headlight...... he needs to change his headlight

our car suffer more serious exterior damage

and this was the scene it happened...... our car is the grey one SGT 7691X

his Mercedez has slight damage but the headlight is all cracked up, can't tell in this picture

our car......

when later we go down again to take a photo of our car with a camera, u see better:

i got my dad to contact him and we settled this without getting the insurance

he is quite a gentleman.......

he will pay for our damages and taxi fare for these few days cos he admit it's his carelessness and my dad says no one wants to have accident.....

who likes having accident!?!??!?!

we went to his workshop to assess the repair cost.... ours is about $1.5k (luckily internally not much damage, only exterior cost), and his Mercedez headlight alone is already $1.5k..... cos Mercedez spare part more expensive...... ours is Hyundai so you see the difference in price and quality

when a Mercedez kena banged, it's more solid hard and more difficult to dent but to repair a small thing is very costly

and just like that, we got to know another neighbour....... who lives at the same block as me but on first floor......

Dad's Birthday @ Paradiz Inn

i thought when June comes, I'll be more free with my schedule

but the first 3 weeks of june is very tight in schedule

somehow I still cope by with rearranging my lessons and all to accommodate some events like my dad's birthday and tmr my cousin's wedding

to get my weekday night free is so difficult

nowadays students are only available from late afternoon to night on weekdays

so i manage to change my students' lessons pack them to other days so that I can spend a night with my family for my dad's birthday

(i seriously treasure any free nights i have)

we went to Paradise Inn for my dad's birthday dinner

recommended by Wj

many outlets in Sg now, the one we went is at City Square Mall cos it's easier for my mum

the walkway there is more spacious and carpark is more handicap friendly

Wj is happily looking through the menu

Endang is smiling brightly

gave my dad his present while waiting for dishes to come

tearing the wrapping paper apart

he guessed it's a wallet

and he's right! it's a Braun Buffel wallet

he needs one now! he seriously need to change his wallet

Fried Chicken with ginger and ______

I can't rem!

it's super delicious when it's hot but when it starts to cool down, not nice already

crisp on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside

my dad will definitely order 扣肉包 if he sees one in the menu

hmmmm, I think Westlake taste better

tenderness of the meat is good but the seasoning and sauce Westlake is better

Westlake is a small food booth in few shopping centres

there's one at Lot 1 basement, it's yummy!

i find this ok only

we also ordered other dishes like noodles, cereal prawn （麦片虾), sambal kang kong.......

the Cereal Prawn is really the winner of the day! it's de-shelled and the cereals fragrance of it really get into the prawn

unlike the usual Cereal Prawn, the cereals are all coated on the shell and the inside of the prawn has no cereal taste

I was so busy eating!!!! eat like siao, so full and yummy!!!! thumbs up!!!

Food Verdict of Paradise Inn(City Sq mall): 9/10 (maybe so happens the dishes we order are yummy)

Must try: Cereal prawn (麦片虾), sambal kang kong, double boil soup

Service: nothing to rave or rant about, the usual for a chinese restaurant

Ambience: Family Style

at the end of the dinner, my dad is saying "very good dinner, very satisfied, all the dishes are great"

My Wedding Ring

It's confusing when it comes to the various terms for wedding rings.......

so just simply once and for all:

when a guy propose to you with a diamond ring, it's call "The Engagement Ring"

when u are about to sign the marriage certificate, the rings you exchanged with each other is call "The Wedding Bands"

but it's confusing to say Wedding Bands cos it could mean music band playing at your wedding, so I'll refer these as the Wedding Rings

I personally don't want a Diamond Engagement Ring cos I don't fancy wearing ring...... many people don't believe my words..... thought I'm just acting shy and refuse to admit I want it.

girls who fancy and want it I can understand, but I don't understand y is it that they impose their own values onto me

my reason for not wanting a Diamond Engagement Ring:

1. I don't have much events or dinner functions to attend. Even if I attend a lot, it will be cos I need to perform and I don't like to wear that expensive diamond ring to perform and scratch the piano keys or the ring itself.

2. I teach most of the time, leaving me no chance to wear the ring.

3. I can't wear the ring when I'm fat. u can retrieve the diamond and get a bigger size ring by then but I think i will not go through the hassle to do it

so Wj got me a diamond necklace. I'm much happier with that. the funny thing is, he knows more about diamond than me cos he need to read up and buy..... haha! i know nothing......

he's a sweet guy..... even though i duno anything about diamond, he still got me a good quality diamond stone

I used it to see my mum's and my own diamonds.....

really...... WJ's diamond still the best!

we are particular about the design. its so happens mine has many small diamonds.

many small diamonds is still way more cheaper than one big diamond.

we tried and wore many different rings from different shops.........

most of them have very normal and plain designs......... only refreshing and creative ones are at Love & Co.

some are more comfy to wear........

but in the end we decided on this......

showed Dad and he say, "Good choice! very nice"

my blog is so dead....

came back from Taiwan wedding photoshoot last week but ever since i return, really bz like crazy

i've been wanting to blog, but argh! no time..... really no time

my langkawi entry still doing..... just now filled up descriptions for the photos..... and realised, I still have 99 more photos to describe!

my video on langkawi not entirely done, all the small details haven't wrap up......

why am I so bz???

- wedding prep (choosing ring, furniture to be placed at bf house, haven't really start on scrapbooking my guestbook)

- teaching teaching teaching (i need to go down music store to buy books!)

- proj assignments to hand up for my studies (need to write a lot and take videos)

these 3 things alone puts my schedule tight....... one more thing i wanna do that I procrastinated without doing......... BLOGGING!!!!

but I LOVE IT when i'm busy! I dunno y, I feel that I accomplish more things when my schedules are pack!

Leaving for Taiwan

I actually prepared an entry on my Langkawi trip one week ago..... there's video and photos

video is actually done but my photos haven't put descriptions on it

so its considered incomplete to post an entry here on Langkawi

looking at this odd hour of this post...... i did not stay up this late

i actually slept for couple of hours and now preparing to leave for Taiwan for my wedding photoshoot

sounds exciting and interesting but me and Wj have so many things to do for our job and my assignments till the point that I didn't even have much time to properly pack my luggage

was frantically packing inbetween waiting time for students to arrive haha!!

looks like my blog is going to be so dead for now unless I blog in Taiwan..... I'll be away for 2 weeks =)

will definitely share my experience when I'm back!

I'm back from Langkawi and Penang last night!

had a once in a lifetime experience for couple of things.....

My busy March

previously I've mentioned before my March schedule is pretty crazy

here goes:

1) CT Plus

went for the teaching course.... very tiring but get to know a network of teachers

it's full 3 days..... still have 8 more days to go but it's split up in other months

but before i went there, we need to submit a video on one of our lesson, so that our mentors can comment on the way we teach

i think this is good, but gave me jittery nerves when i was preparing

we were given a videocam for this course, but i find it not up to my minimum mark of saying "satisfactory"

cos i play around with video taking with digital cameras better than the given one

but oh well, it's good enough for academic purpose

because of its design, it's impossible to let it stand on its own and rec the lesson

so my smart and genius dad modified and improvised one of our tripod!!! super creative and cheap!!!

*big big applause to him*

he solved my headache....... if u always handle cam tripod, u will appreciate how impressive my dad is

cos Wj dunno how a tripod is like exactly in detail so he can't appreciate how amazing my dad is

i posted the photos on fb, and friends who always play with photography all "like" it

2) Capsule Carnival

Happen to chance upon this when I was on my way to teach students in Sengkang

it's at Compassvale Point

so kawaii!!!

i wanted to exchange some coins to "tikam tikam" some capsules but i found nothing i really fancy

not cheap though, a more atas tikam tikam

$3 for each capsule

3) Arrival of Maid

say hi to 'Endang' [pronounce as In-dang]

my first time having a maid cos my dad is resuming work

a company is looking for someone suitable to take care of the SEA region so my dad is deemed suitable

lots of travelling is needed so for the past 2.5 years my dad has been taking care of my mum FULL TIME

with Endang around, my dad is free to travel as and when is required of the job

I was kinda worried about having Endang cos i always hear a lot of negative stories about maid......

but so far she has been here for about a week, she has proven to be hardworking and capable (still early to tell honestly)......

we are very lucky to have her because she has a lot of experience as a maid and has 3 children

she has worked in msia as a maid for 2 years, and in indonesia for 3 years, and has taken care of her bedridden relative for some time

the main purpose of hiring Endang is to take care of my mum, and just teaching twice she can manage already.....

she's quite smart indeed and because she has 3 children so there are a lot of things she know what is needed to take care of the house well

we treat her really well and she kept talking about extending her contract after the signed 2 years

we see her very relax and no pressure working for us because we treat her like part of family; eat together, joke together, she learn english from us, we learn indonesian language from her

Then my dad had to go for a day trip to KL few days after Endang came, so to assure him all is well at home, i took the following 3 photos and emailed him with my iphone

the dish on the right is asam manis, i love it! like the taste

we didn't really teach her much how to cook cos her previous employer in Indonesia is Chinese

Today she cooked NASI LEMAK!! i love the rice!

4) 饭团

i dunno where dad bought this.....

I like the idea of you choose your own rice, and what ingredients to be wrapped inside

but it taste ok to me only, it's not very fantastic

Recording with Sherman

well, was glad to be involved in some parts of his album recording

the following photos are taken during our recording session but not successful.... =(

Tried to record the piano playing but.....

oh well...... Sherman's laptop went crazy... gadgets went crazy.....

only reason we could think of is: he haven't do software updates

due to budget constraints he didn't book studio for recording so that's y this venue

anyway, was not successful due to the gadget problems....

on a different day, we tried to do harpsichord playing:

please don't tell me it's a piano

it's a harpsichord actually ....

harpsichord is invented and popular during the baroque period (year 1600 - 1750)

this instrument is used way before the piano because piano is invented in the year 1709 but only became popular later......

harpsichord looks like piano but internal mechanism functions differently

piano strings are hit by hammers when you press the keys but harpsichord is sounded by plucking of strings when you press the keys

harpsichord is narrow in range of notes and some are double manual (double layer of keys), some are single manual

the one i played is double manual and its keys has the blacks and whites opposite of a piano

there are some extra enhancements to sound the harpsichord by activating the switches called "stops"

for double manual, the top manual can be pulled out or pushed in to activate different sound quality

*please do not say I plagiarise anyone's work, all these are typed out by me, just sharing some knowledge here

to own a harpsichord in singapore is costly because harpsichord is ENTIRELY handmade.... to have it, you need to import it and it goes out of pitch much easier than piano which means higher maintenance

our weather in singapore is hot and humid which do no good to wood. pianos in singapore requires heater to be on 24 hrs for the rest of its live in singapore to keep the wood dry

but i compare my 22 years old piano with a 23 year old piano living in japan, mine is like lao ah peh already, a lot of water marks and wood is deteriorating even though i own the heater all the time

so i can't imagine owning a harpsichord, not designed to hold a heater and best is to always keep it in cool area (aircon always)

the harpsichord recording wasn't successful due to various reasons

so to cut long story short:

the recording was not successful

haha!! i know!! i cut the story too short until i don't even need to say it right! haha

i wonder when will it be Sherman's CD launch date.....

Soft Peel Mask

i bought this mask during a Sasa sale quite some time ago and didn't get to try it

cos need to get pretty hands on

its actually a soft peel off mask that helps to improve elasticity of the face, balance of moisture

a picture of me before the mask (no makeup)

had dabao-ed dinner, so didn't get to use the disposable chopstick, so i use it now!

my house still has loads of disposable cups/bowls/plates cos of CNY, so i use one of the bowl now!

inside the soft mask pack, there are two individual packs that you need to mix yourself

one is a powder pack, the other is the liquid essence pack

i like the 'essence' pack, sounds like it's full of goodness pack!

i poured out the contents of the powder pack

added the essence full of goodness pack

then i mix it with the disposable chopstick

it has this nice rose scent

almost done mixing

BABY PINK!!! very nice colour!!!!

it gets kinda liquid when you first mix it, but starts to harden as time goes by

cos it's suppose to be a soft peel off mask

see how it starts to harden just after i finish applying on my face

haha! my dad actually laugh at my face

maybe you all can have a good laugh now too

i was suppose to leave on the mask for 15-20 min but I did almost 30 min

was too engross watching the tsunami and earthquake news on japan

usually we only get to see the footage after the disaster is over

i got teary when i watched cos you get to see such precious footage of the whole process of the disaster

i'm really very very very curious who are the ones still there taking those videos at such dangerous times

how heartbreaking it was to see the fields, houses, vehicles, people get swept away....... people stranded.....

so its suppose to be peel off mask but maybe i left it on too long

it hardens too much and turned hard on my face

so the only way is to slowly peel bits off instead of one big piece

* No editing is done on any of the photos

* tried to get back the same angle of the 'after mask' photo

definitely, my skin has better radiance after mask, like there's this little glow, less dull compare to the 'before mask'

but about 1.5 hr later i check the mirror, the improved radiance was gone..... well can't expect a 30min radiance to last forever at a cost of around $2

Verdict: if i chance upon it, i will buy it again just to have the fun of it (but probably just one pack to keep). won't go out of my way just to get it

Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe

I didn't make it to the finals for Impresario original composition

there were issues happening between me and the organiser so i duno if that was the result of me not moving on to grand finals

Wj felt I should be selected based on the songs he heard cos out of 10, 5 will be selected to finals

but anyway i've less one thing to worry about..... i have other things to busy myself with

after that I went to have dinner with Wj at ABC market

taste good~~~ Wow Wow West stall!

I asked, 'y order so much!?!?!?!'

Wj said he was very hungry, so he ordered a lot.....

and i said,

" you always ordered too much, this time round you finish all yourself!!!"

in the end.......

he say he too full, cannot finish.....

05.03.2011 Wedding Lunch at Changi Airport

last saturday went to my starhub ex colleague's wedding lunch at Changi Airport (Crown Plaza Hotel)

surprise right! You all will think my work is always related to music......

I used to work at Starhub hot line 1633..... yes, any problems with your starhub handphone line/scv stuff, just call 1633, the main hot line and I was there to answer your call and problems and hear all your vulgar language and curses

but all my ex colleagues has left the call centre already, only left one still in Starhub but other department....

we are now from all walks of life: Police force (we call her Madam!), banking, musician (me), Singtel, Starhub, medical industry and blah blah blah

I was pretty lucky cos i have students going for theory exam on that same saturday, so I teach 2 students in the morning, and go for wedding lunch, and after that carry on teaching 3 more students =) no need to make any other arrangements or cancel lessons for this lunch!!! woooohooo!!

this theory exam reminds me of this:
while I was preparing one of my student for her theory exam, i noticed something on her arm:

I thought it was a chop on her arm!!!

some updates are a bit stale but oh well..... february has been a bz month, but March is going to be even worse!

1) Chinese New Year

I had a crazy time with my relatives and friends during the CNY cos relatives are SOOOOO LOUD and noisy over my wedding ....

family friends who came over to my house sang and sang for hours...... so I played the keyboard for them to sing for 5 hours...... 1st 3 hours were non stop playing and singing....

surprisingly I didn't felt tired playing keyboard for 5 hours and I was sitting on a stool, no backing to lean on....... now thinking back..... i'm amazed how i did it....

soooooooooo many videos on them singing cos everyone must sing at least one song..... got one Uncle call Uncle Andrew don't want to share the mic with others! want to carry on singing! but his daughters tell him enough lah!! give other people chance lah!

haha!!! i always hear parents telling children "must share share ah!" but now it's the other way round! so funny!!

so the video need more time to edit...... will edit like crazy!

2) Valentine's Day

Days before Valentine's Day:

Wj: so u have any idea where u want to eat dinner?

Me: Dunno leh, everywhere will increase price....

why not.......... I cook for you lah! Jap food, got chawanmushi, coleslaw.....

Wj: Whoa! Got chawanmushi! Ok!

Me: but you must come my house eat....

Wj: so far.....

Me: if u don't want come, I don't cook chawanmushi, we eat out

Wj: I go your house!

he's getting picky on every chawanmushi he eats now

like a food critic on every chawanmushi he eats outside, must have no bubble holes, must have enough taste to the steam egg(he commented on many 不够香)

i guess he loves mine a lot cos it's also my effort and I seldom cook chawanmushi.....

but he always say mine is 够香, no bubble holes, got 料(liao)

cos my parents are at home on Valentine's day, so my dad and me were talking:

dad: I duno exactly what u want to cook leh. you cooking for only you and Wj right?

me: you don't need to know what I cook, I'm doing jap dinner for all 4 of us, which means including u and mum

dad: so...... what do i need to prepare?

me: you have nothing to prepare

dad: !!!!!!! *stunned few sec*

so you mean i no need do anything and just eat??!!???!!

me: yes

dad: Whoa!!! I want everyday Valentine's day leh!!

(cos my dad cooks everyday for our meals...... now u know y he's so happy)

so like this, I cooked for 4 people

my parents had their Valentine Dinner in the kitchen

me and Wj had Valentine Dinner at our dining table in the hall.

everyone commented it was a very tasty and FULL dinner..... every single dish taste very good

3) Video-ing my lesson

I'm furthering my piano teaching qualification. so one of the assignments I need to do is to video down about 30 min of my lesson

I'm into videography (not pro though) but the video cam they give me is........ errr....... I would say..... not up to my expectation

true, it's dummy proof, but not really the kinda video cam I will buy...... look kinda toy-like to me

but anyway, the point here is not to have professional video skill and quality

but more of recording down the way I teach, so for academic purpose, it's fine for the given quality of the cam

the design of the cam makes it very hard to stand upright to video...... I got tripod but........ can't work cos the videocam is not designed to be on a tripod

so my smart dad improvised on it....... and tadah!!! it worked!!!! can use tripod now!!! go any student's location also can take!!! yea!!!

MY DAD IS REALLY GENIUS!!!!

Running

I asked KL before, " how do you stay so discipline in your running regime? u always train in running and do 42km marathons!"

"Do it as a routine. Fix the same day same time to run. Stick to it"

I always thought running will gimme muscular chunky calves and legs will look less slender if i wear short skirts/shorts.

but lately i think i'm putting on weight (even my dad say so but say i look better this way, look just nice)

and i'm already lack of exercise, some running shouldn't make my calve muscle to become chunky unless i train hard like KL

and i've seen a lot of stories about people having knee problems due to running too much. this is something i have to bear in mind ( i don't think i will run that much, i don't want to have muscular calves!)

people will tell me i don't look fat but I FEEL FAT

a lot of girls say they are fat when they are skinny

Reason: they don't exercise.....

so whenever a girl say they are fat but not fat at all, is cos........

they FEEL FAT

*except another friend of mine, she say she has fat face, but exercise a lot very slim already, did some weight training too but she still say she is fat.... at times she control her diet too..... nickname her Xena, the warrior princess.... fit woman.....

so the feeling of FEEL FAT lead me to make a comeback in my exercise.....

I used to exercise frequently ..... but i slowly became less discipline and didn't fix same day same time to exercise

In my entire life, Exercise has never meant "减肥" or "want to slim down"

to me, exercise has always meant "to stay healthy", and becoming slimmer is a "symptom" of good exercise

I find people who hang a smaller size dress in front of them to motivate them to exercise is not going to last in the long term. they will lose the discipline of exercising sooner or later

I've started running since Jan .... now mid feb, 1.5 months of running.... i ran once a week

today had a good run. i did 4km today without stopping, used to stop few times to take a break.

ran in gym most of the time, but when i did outdoor running i have lesser stamina

the outdoor environment is more challenging..... will train myself up on outdoor running every weekend

which means i will make a point to run twice a week, once in gym, once outdoor

P/S: KL, if u see this entry, my running compared to yours is peanuts.....but hey! i must not let that "guaaaaan......liiiiinngg~~~~~~" and running and panting at Thailand Airport happen again!!! hahaha!

星星 this song had its melody composed by me 4 years ago. I approached my friend Correne to help me fill in the lyrics and she's wonderful. Very good lyrics written.

so far this song has been performed live.... twice..... me playing the keyboard and singing at the same time at 2 separate occasion

2 years ago, I got another friend to help me arrange it into a proper mp3, and I recorded my singing on my own. Till now, I felt the recording of the singing has shaky pitching at certain parts......

BUT! now i'm too lazy to re-record it......

so after it's more done up in arrangement, my friend heard it (he heard it 2 years ago) and recently urged me to join this Impresario 2011 original composition segment.

and here I am! into the semi finals!

there were times when my camera wasn't around with me

so I'm glad i have my iphone around with me......... picture quality nothing fantastic but decent enough

remember him?? my student's brother with the hair standing up in the middle!!! like the incredibles baby!!!

now 7 months starting to recognise faces..... so that day when he saw me he cried..... cos i'm a STRANGER , even though I see him every week, sad =(

his hair now slightly longer , so it's even more standing up!!! hahah!!!

went for ABRSM seminar at Inspiration Music School.........

then when my friend KL happen to contact me wanna meet, i said I'm near her house she was puzzled y i'm there.... but in the end we can't meet..... our timing can't fit haha

so far my student and my friend said this picture is so cute!!!!

this is when i start to explore the wonders of iPhone apps....

can change the effect of photos, and was telling my friend i could do this with a free app

and showed my friend the photos and he say

"so cute!! Mumu's hooves are too big for the keys, but still very cute"

and i felt angry for Bubu..... hahah!

we had a farewell gathering for Juliet (which i already mentioned in my previous post)

we decided on the spot to just do jamming....... so we just anyhow come up with any song and just follow along......

and for some funny reason just kept repeating until we get quite enough of it haha!!

and i also had mentioned before I only had videos but no pictures......

so I edited the whole bunch of videos into one single 15 min video....... still have part 2......

cos the video limit for youtube allows only till 15min.......

and the 2nd video is about 9min so i can't combine all into one video......

actually took me a really long time to upload this 15 min video..... took about 150min (which is 2 hr 30 min)

and after i upload about 60% which is more than an hour, my network dropped!!! stupid!!! uploading got disrupted!!!

and i have to start all over again to upload for another 150min........ =.=|||

used to learn vocals from her for quite some time.....

went to her album launch at Esplanade Concourse 15.12.2010...... was a wednesday =)

Sherman's the videographer and photographer and violinist for that night

busy guy for the night, multi talented multi tasking!

well, Sherman is also doing up his own album, gonna launch soon

He got me to help him to record the piano and harpsichord parts

I'm especially glad he got me involved to go through this great experience =)

we did a farewell gathering with Juliet at replugged cos she was leaving for Sydney to study music (she is now already in Sydney, left few days ago)

and we impromptu had a jamming, messy but fun session

and the funniest thing is....... when i wanted to post pictures up on facebook on our gathering....... i realised.........

comparing yourself to others

happen to watch a little of Channel 8 drama, usually don't have such opportunity to watch cos need to teach

and caught a character's line saying "我要证明我比她跟好“ which means "I must prove that I am better than her"

and I realised, I used to have such thinking when I was in my sec school

this girl in class was pretty close to me, and she always tell me she slept late cos her mum always made her do household chores and studying for tests is always last min and not much time

I don't know how much to believe her at times cos she always score better than me tests/exams.

if what she say is true, then I'm spending more time than her to prepare for my tests/exam and still i get lesser marks than her...... why!!??!?!

then I kept questioning myself

"am I stupid?"

"or is it my studying method is not correct?"

"or did she lie to me that she didn't study but in fact she is studying (cos there are such people in my class, dunno about her)"

then slowly as time passed..... still in my sec sch days, I realised the greatest enemy to challenge is not anyone but myself.

I found out that there will always be people better or worse than me, and it's an endless and pointless comparison. should only compare the "MYSELF in the past" and the "MYSELF now" and did I improve.

even till now, I've met people who are such great talent in music

and there are times i felt small about myself cos i seem to be a lot lousier than them

but this always constantly remind me that.....

hey, isn't that a good thing? I have things to improve on to challenge myself to greater heights!

I believe that in life i might have other areas better than them for eg i've found a hubby-to-be, a great in-law family, brought up in a great family, great friends. =)

so, the greatest challenge, is yourself =)

I've not have this feeling for so long....... i duno y i had the motivation and drive to do it today

it's been a long time since i last felt this way...... and I couldn't believe time just fly by when I was playing the piano at home today

I practise non stop for 3 hours which I normally don't do (maybe for others it's a norm, but for me it's difficult especially since i last injured myself)

and also, I have felt only a little strain from the injured area after this 3 hours prac.... so it's a gd sign that I'm getting better

was practising my friend's songs cos he's coming up with an album and I'm honoured that he rope me in for the piano part

Really happy to be part of his album making journey, it's really nice of him. well, his album is not the usual kind of songs/album u see in the market, it has a style of his own......

besides practising his songs, i was also doing some of mine during this 3 hour playing...... oh ya, another show coming up to do at Raffles Hotel, some Chinese New Year thingy.....

Sidetrack a bit:

I absolutely love Sesame Street when I was a kid. however, Sesame Street now and the program I watched in the past as a kid does have difference..........

every end of each of my blog entry I will post a clip on Grover & Fat Blue cos I just find it so funny even after so many years!!!

it's our local ice cream parlour which first open a branch at Novena, then recently at Siglap

I'm proud that Singapore has its own original something to show to the world that hey! we can also have this locally famed ice cream made in this hot weather!

and i love their shop name! it all makes sense!

Udders means the cow's part for getting the milk out..... hehe how cute to use that for a shop name

this Udder...... i've been wanting to try it since 1.5 years ago!!! made a pact with Brandon and Peifang, and finally we got there!!

For half a week, I've been trying to upload my Video 12 up on youtube but cos of the copyrights of songs (i uploaded many times with different songs), either my video is blocked or audio disabled......

so ..... i became SOOOOO fed up with this issue...... I decided to just do my own music......

I anyhow came up with some music for the background of Video 12,

just pluck and drop in my software and tadah!

but not really the right kinda mood for the video i feel...... no time to go play around with the software so........... ya, no time already, just can't wait to have vid 12 up, this entry has been delayed for half a week

One week before my birthday

went to Long Beach Seafood Restaurant at East Coast for dinner:

was with my parents, and Wj

Deep fried baby squid!!!

really good, crisp and sweet!

very addictive, once i start munching on it, i can't seem to stop!

Salted egg prawn and mee goreng

wasn't very fantastic

never heard of this fish before

it's from Taiwan, not fresh water fish, not seawater fish.......

it's a .......

spring water fish!!

whoa..... sounds so exciting, but nothing fantastic when we eat

chilli crab!

it's weird..... cos it's a little sour......

shouldn't have sour element inside what....... chilli crab leh

black pepper crab

wow! this is gd and really really spicy!

but dad said can be more fragrant

but all of us prefer this than chilli crab (i'm not sure of Wj cos he don't really take spicy food)

Overall food verdict: 6.5/10. There are 2 Longbeach Seafood at East Coast, the one i went was the smaller one beside all the other seafood restaurants (Jumbo, Xiao Hong Lou etc).

Service verdict: 7/10. The person taking order is very helpful and gives recommendations well. But seafood restaurants are usually very busy, so everyone is like a busy ant, hurrying everywhere anywhere. But they still came to change our plates more than once.

cos sometimes students forgot to bring their notebook (to record down their homework), I use this to write down their homework and stick on their piano book

then we went shopping, supposed to be birthday girl buy more things, but dunno y end up Wj is the one that kept buying a lot ....... i only bought hair ties.....

I've been there twice, each time I'm there I painted one piano stone, so there're two piano stones there (i painted one more extra to bring back for myself)

i'll be going there again next year since I'll be going Taiwan for wedding photoshoot, and my 3rd piano stone will be painted and be left there! (maybe will paint one more extra to bring back )

just bought iPhone 4 but.......... for some various reasons there are issues I have to deal with before I can use it......

so agonising!!!!! ...... the iPhone 4 in front of me and I can't use it.....

to make it worse, I'm leaving for KL for couple of days in 2 days time, so i can only settle those issues and use my iPhone a week later!!!! >:( Hmph!

cos i also dun wanna bring my iPhone 4 to KL, not that I will lose it, but you know...... just in case.....

i stopped learning in year 2010 after attending enrichment program for 3rd time

honestly, I had crappy teacher for the first year, then changed.....

so for my first teacher, after he left, I totally lost respect for him cos he wanted to borrow $ from me on separate occasions......

for people wondering what's this:

you squeeze a tiny tube and out comes transparent blue/red paste thingy and place the lump at one end of a tiny yellow straw, then you blow it up

if the bubble has a hole, u use your mouth to "kok" and blow and "MMM" to close the bubble

i believe many of us has played this before........

anyway, that maid is one of the most talented maid I know (she's from myanmar)

within 8 months, she can speak fluent mandarin

surprisingly, her english not that strong, her mandarin very good

went for a 3 day seminar on Encore

i really love the program they offer and I'm thinking of doing group classes on this..... now the question is on venue

many props are used for this program

how fun and interesting!!!!

so this program is more for young kids, they say can start with kids 3 yrs old

I felt so uncomfortable wearing this dress to attend this seminar cos...... need to sit on floor, do a lot of movements........ well, no choice, got a show at Ritz Carlton later after this

she's amazingly good!

she's so agile and so into every song, her facial expression, movement.....

as if i'm really at the place she's acting out for eg. jungle, outer space

and i wonder where she gets so much energy for the whole day!

so for those teachers, stop saying you're old, trying to act cute and all....

it's just all in the mind!

they used to be yamaha teachers and they came out with their own program "Encore"

in australia, among all published music books program for young kids ( including those famous books from Alfred, Bastien), Encore sold the most!

before i attend this seminar, I felt that Yamaha has very program for the young kids in groups

since I used to learn from Yamaha for 5 to 6 years as a kid (started from 4 yrs old), and now i see students coming to me after attending yamaha, i am aware what yamaha does......

but after knowing Encore, it really open up my eyes and showed me how much more it does than Yamaha

3 dec 2010 Beldin + Carol Wedding at Copthorne King's Hotel

Beldin and Carol have my bestest blessings for the future they'll be working for

was nice to see the effort put in for this wedding, montage was special, there was even a music video (mtv style) on a duet they both sang

and in the picture above, Beldin is singing and playing his midi guitar doing a live performance to dedicate the song he proposed to Carol

it's nice that things went on smoothly for the dinner, and in future they'll be living couple of blocks away from my future house

actually there were encounters of things happened one month before I attended their wedding.......

and are things that I will forgive but will not forget

I actually feel i already have a big heart to forgive, asking me to forget is difficult cos it already has a mark in my life journey

a friend went through what I went through too, but I think it hit her more

well, my personal motto in life is:

No matter what happens, it's better to have friends than having a foe. if there is a person you just can't seem to be on good terms with no matter how hard you try, just stay a distance and remain neutral. you never will know when is the day that person will step out to reach you, so all it's left is for time to come.

so many changes to students timing....... i have 3 day seminars full day somemore coming......

and got a show at Ritz Carlton to do (luckily no singing, just me doing keyboard, and the other 2 musicians playing dizi and box drum)..... rehearsal for this show....

spent time to prepare for show cos need to properly get the chords out nicely, not messily written it out...... cos i like my scores to be neat and tidy

and funny thing is, during this holiday, I received 3 different people asking me about buying piano who needs advice.....

lately Zhang Xingzhe is coming back into the singing business

so he's promoting his album everywhere including at Seng Shiong Show

and Wj is in the fan club, so he received free ticket to go

the funny thing is I sit together with the whole fan club, but I'm not really a fan of that singer, he's neutral to me......

I can't stand my toenails without paint or just simply a one colour paint on my toenails

over the years..... I am very proud of myself to say: I figured out how to do nail art myself......

but i don't do it consistently

maybe i will get criticised if a pro sees me doing cos I've not gone thru any proper training

but I think for a DIY standard it's pretty decent

used to do for friends and recently i've received requests to do for other friends or friend's friends

but I wasn't very keen to go into this nail art business anymore..... cos it's such a hassle

i have to move out all my nail art equipments (takes at least 15 min to setup), and then spend time to pack it back in again cos need to teach music theory on the same table when students come........

and it's very labour intensive, so now i'm only doing nail art for myself, and friends who are close to me that needs it

i've not been updating my nail art photos of my toenails for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.....

so this is November 2010 Nail art on my feet:

Pink base with glittery french tip, and with hand-painted ribbons for 6 toes

I've read a lot of magazines, read up online about nail art

and I realised there are designs that are so intricate that I can't see what design is that exactly when u look from far......

what i mean is, our nail area do not have much space, so if it's too complicated in design, u only see one big pile of things on nails but duno what it is.....

I know it is not easy to achieve that.... and probably these are for nail art shows

so my design tend to be kept more simple but still can see what's the design from far

I was approached to do this enrichment module with this company on Digital Music......

this company actually doesn't only provide Digital Music, but also other modules like Makeup, Nails, Service Motocycle, Business, Video editing etc.......

and only teaches sec students from Normal Academic and Normal Technical because they want them to discover other areas of skills that they might be interested in

if they like it, good! they can pursue their future studies in ITE or poly in that area

if they hate it, good! they know this is something they don't like

usually such course only last for a couple of sessions during school hours......

it is very interesting when I hear what they do for Business module:

they have to come up with what to sell, make own brochures, promote their stall to people by giving out their brochures, how to price their products to earn $$ and start their business on actual day (name tag: Cashier, Manager, sales person etc)

but for Digital Music, they have to write their own song and record it down

so it's my first time with them, being assigned as an assistant trainer, in future when I'm up to it, i can be Trainer

anyway writing songs is something i've been doing and what they do are very basic...... so I can keep up to it

the room i'm assigned to is the envy of other trainers

one of the trainer exclaimed: " omg! your room is so sexy!"

haha! yes indeed!

other trainers either have to work on laptops, or use older windows pc....

after writing lyrics and doing up melodies, recorded their vocals....

and brought along the condenser mic to rec the vocals

we have a student who knows how to play guitar and another student who can sing not bad......

the singer wrote the lyrics, the guitarist made up the melody.....

and recorded it, and present to everyone live performance at the end of 4th day!

I won't be playing out any of their songs, cos it's their songs

i'm surprise by the songs done up ...... and kinda like some of the tunes

this class is not too bad in terms of behaviour, so I had a wonderful experience

The Pan Pacific Open House is very well done up.......

The whole atmosphere is so cosy, pretty and makes u wanna stay on in the ballroom.....

they displayed the 4 wedding themes and we also get to taste 4 dishes (cold dish, sharkfin soup, cod fish, lotus rice)

so confirmed already...... signed with Pan Pacific..... we manage to get a better deal when we sign on Open House...... all the perks they give are so good and comprehensive!

Hotel Venue for Wedding

After I came back from USA, getting over the jet lag....... I started reading up online forums, searching online for wedding information

The first thing to settle is hotel.

Hotels need to be booked one year in advance......

it's not the requirement of the hotel, but it's cos of the

Kiasu spirit of Singaporeans.

Shortlisted a few hotels, went down to view the hotels and speak to the wedding coordinators to know about their package in detail.........

just doing this alone is physically drained and time consuming...... Wj does give suggestions on hotels and did visit a few with me (he is very very very bz, but made time out)

I always thought choosing hotel is not that difficult, just budget only....... I'm so wrong

There are minimum tables to hit, budget (of cos), hotel availability, pillar-less venue, projectors provided/needed, shape of the venue (square, rectangle, V shape, L shape, fan shape)

So those venue that is V or L shape, or any venue that has pillars, will create blindspot, people can't view the stage/wedding couples, have to see screen (live feed) - - - - - - Jamie can fully understand what I mean hahaha, told her about this and she shared with me her experience

we actually decided on another hotel, but later changed..... and finally it's.......

Pan Pacific

So far my experience with Pan Pacific is a very good one, the coordinator makes me feel she's there for me and very friendly...... very comfortable with her......

even my another friend who was shortlisting for hotels told me she love Pan Pac too, really almost sign it down already

cos the coordinator made her felt like they're there for you, friendly, approachable

but suddenly need to change a place in Sentosa cos her in-law wants it there

I heard there are mean coordinators,unfriendly and a bit bochup at other hotels.....

Later I'm going to sign the package, at the same time it's the Open House of Pan Pacific, so we get to see the different full version deco and taste 4 dishes of the wedding dinner. So i tot this is a good time for Wj and I to experience the place

but Wj last min tell me he don't want to go, he want me to postpone......(i got pretty upset with him cos this appointment was 3rd time being arranged cos for some reasons always get cancelled eventually, I'm tired of this already)

so last min tell me to postpone, but he told me he has this rash all over his body, so it's unforeseen circumstances

at first i was angry, why can't he just sign and go home rest, but since he say it's serious so my anger subside

I didn't get to see his rashes, i duno how bad it was..... so I made arrangement with the wedding coordinator and she say die die also must sign today, cannot change date already.....so the details we worked it out without requiring Wj to turn up

then I called Wj's mum to ask how's Wj doing, she say not that serious............

do you know how it felt like to hear her say "wj not that serious" and Wj say "it's very serious, i can't go pan pac with you"

again, my anger rose when I kept asking Wj mum, "really not that serious?" and she replied repeatedly, "not that serious lah"

I was angry again to the extend it's too tiring to get angry over this...... I'm tired of all these nonsense and want to quickly sign Pan Pac..... chop chop curry pok, quickly sign and one less thing to worry.....
get over and done with

so my dad say "whoa! then i get the privilege to go on behalf of Wj, can view hotel, can eat the 4 dishes of the wedding dinner"

haha!

USA Part 5: Miami & Keywest

Miami is actually about the sun, the beach, the girls on the beach, drinks..........

basically just a place for fun and sun.....

but it's so not for me and Wj, we just want to go there to experience this famous place......

which in fact we don't get awed when we're there cos we're not beach party people.......

Miami is always a good place for movie setting

we went to Keywest in a rush cos we spent slightly too much time having our lunch at Miami.....

the reason y we wanna experience our drive to Keywest because....... look at the map below:

Keywest is at the bottommost left......

and the route that links from Miami to Keywest is surrounded nothing but only ocean.....

the only way to link up from Miami to Keywest is by a man-made road linking up all the tiny islands

the ocean has different shades of green and blue..... SO BEAUTIFUL!

Actually, people who go there, are there to enjoy the laid-back slow pace lifestyle......

sounds very much like perth in australia.....

but we were in such a hurry...... the moment we reach keywest, we have to return our rented car and take our flight .....

USA Part 7: Miami & Keywest

i thought I have a chance to experience malay void deck wedding......

cos the last time i went one was when I was a primary school kid!!!

this is the first time I see a malay wedding held at a Hotel dinner banquet!

the whole setup is pretty much very chinese dinner setup, just that it is being modified to the muslims' culture...... yes, both of them are pure malay..... very unique wedding

no pork, no lard, no alcohol

so they don't pop champagne but sparkling juice......

and the professional host-dj whom they engaged from outside was helpless, dunno what to do when it's time to bring a toast to the couples

cos chinese normally toast loudly..... "YUUUUUUUM SEEEEEEEEEEENG"

but it's cantonese language of saying drink alcohol...... which my malay couple friends can't drink alcohol due to their Islamic beliefs......

so"Cheers" was used instead.....

we were served Cold dish..... Shark fin soup (Totally surprises me)..... wok fried beef..... deep fried fish....prawns..... mango pudding dessert.....

I had a wonderful time at this wedding dinner cos the groom was my ex-secondary school classmate

so my other ex-secondary school classmates were there, including my malay ex-band mates !!!! how cool!!!! so lost touch with them!!!

and I went to dedicate a song from the DJ (cos being "appointed by my fren" to rep all of us, they told me to choose a song there)......

my friend says to me: You better choose a good song ah i tell u......

me: ok ok......

the Dj's announcement caught the groom's attention when he was doing round each tables' photo taking

"It's a very special dedication from the ex-classmates of Xinmin Secondary School of 4E2 ..... thanks for inviting us to share your joy...... Have lotsa babies!"

and the song dedicated is......

In Love with You

this is such a lovely duet..... i absolutely love this and will choose this to sing in KTV when there's guy during ktv session who knows how to sing this....

it is challenging though.....

USA Part 4: Orlando (Universal) Jul 2010

In Orlando, there are 2 parks of Universal Studios, and different theme in each of them.....

Harry Potter World is newly launched in June 2010 and when I went there in July 2010, it's crowded..... everyone is there for the new Harry Potter World.....

actually, our trip to Universal was lucky, cos we didn't know of Harry Potter World is opening.... we just made plans and happen it's newly launched!! yippee!

After been through so many rides..... I feel that water park slides are the scariest

cos there's nothing to belt u on for water slides, u feel all alone sliding down.... u feel .... so helpless, being washed down by the water, nothing to grab on.....

roller coaster u have safety clasps to tighten u down on.....

WJ praise me !!

so happy!!

he say many of his gal friends don't have the courage to take all those rides with him..... he say I brave!!

hahah!!!!

actually before I take these adrenaline rush rides, those vertically drop down, roller coaster swishing here and there.... I will be a bit scared..... but since i decided to do it..... just go! GO AUDRIS GO!

when it's over, I feel so happy!!! adrenaline rush to the head, and more awaken like that.....

most of all, I'm satisfied cos I have a sense of achieving something! hehe

so it's the BEFORE feeling that I don't like.....

I couldn't imagine if we tour with those gal frens as a group at Orlando.... it would be party-spoiler, spoil mood ah..... this scared that scared everything scared....

he recently went Genting with his frens, including 2 gal frens that i know..... basically always he and the other guy take those rides, the gals don't take basically most of the rides.....

very gd, let him appreciate my companion more..... hahahhaa

I dunno what got into me..... recently I'm procrastinating on blogging....

it's not that I have nothing to blog about..... in fact I have A LOT to tell......

so one of it is the recent performance at Seng kang.... beside the river.....

I asked where the venue is, and they gave me this picture..... nice place!

it's such a beautiful venue..... I'm happy they got me in to perform...... and the people there are really nice

well.... the outdoor show was about to be moved into a indoor venue but luckily the rain stopped at 5pm

so sound system and band are managed to setup outdoor

when I got there around 7.15pm (show starts at 8pm) my keyboard was setuped, need to do sound check

but!!!!!!

BUT!!!!!

the weather was so humid.... probably you can't visualise, but my keyboard looks like it just came out of the freezer, water condense all over my keyboard!!!!!

IT WAS SO WET!!!!

like u take out something from the fridge, leave it there for half hour to find water surrounding the whole thing.....

my keys.... my buttons..... everywhere...... even if u leave a paper alone out in the open, the paper starts to turn soggy...... my bag have water on it too......

it's SUPERBLY humid! water content in the air is super high i've never seen b4 in singapore....

So i used half pack of tissue to wipe off the water......

and then 5 -10min later.......

WATER START TO FORM ON MY KEYBOARD AGAIN!

SHEESH......

and my act will only start at 9pm...... it's only 7+pm at that time......

no choice..... just let the show start at 8pm with the band "The Young Ones"

when I was doing sound check, i sang "月亮代表我的心" a short bit and the drummer of the band before me approached me and asked me to sing and the band plays for me cos they have the score.......

so I told them the key I want and we talked about how the structure and flow of the song goes

then later on they will ask me up in the middle of their show.... so that song will be done without me playing anything but just sing =)

haha!!! cute isn't it??

The band "The Young Ones" + a really young one there watching....

the band is formed by a band of retirees......

so when my act at 9pm came on..... i just openly announce to the crowd, the water on my keyboard is really too much, give me some time to wipe it off....

so the host impromptu help me entertain the crowd for a while.......

so the staff there came over to help me to wipe and said "whoa! it's so wet ah.....didn't know it can be that wet....."

after all the wiping..... I continue singing and playing...... and then....

my keyboard turn crazy again..... it's not functioning properly......

it made me sound so bad.....

for eg: when i play "DOH", the sound come out "Reh"..... will abruptly and randomly have super loud "DOH", "FA", "MI", "SOH" for no reason for every 10 sec.... the sudden loudness of wrong notes will appear and clashes with the song abruptly and disturbingly......

and i just realised how undependable it is...... it's so sensitive to the humidity that I've decided..... a matter of time I will need to buy a new keyboard for outdoor performance......

by the time i played the 3rd song, i gave up and announce to the audience again my keyboard is cranky...... and will get my fren to play the guitar and i sing for the 3rd song.....

the audience CLAPPED!!!!

hahaahaha!!!

cos it's obvious something's not right...

everyone could hear it.....

yes, it sounded as if it's very bad keyboard playing...... but at least i clarify with the audience and i hope they forgive me for providing noise with the keyboard......

so after that, someone approached me and told me love my singing, but i apologise profusely that my keyboard was cranky and was told

"don't worry lah! your voice covers away everything, I like your voice a lot"

Awwww....... so sweet and encouraging of him..... and he's the dad of that little young girl in front of the band in the earlier picture =)

and I asked him..... "your daughter got boyfriend issit??? so young got boy chase after her leh..... whoa next time surely got many suitors leh!"

USA Part 3: Orlando Jul '10

took me such a long time to do this post.......

that's y my blog has not been active for quite some time

I was editing the video that WJ took while we're in Orlando......

he took so many gd quality videos (applaud him for taking at that point until hands are tired)......I had to view one by one and extract out

furthermore, youtube has a limit of 15 minutes airtime .......

and then finally!!! when I'm done, i was to upload the video to youtube......

alas! it took me 3 hrs to upload this HD movie of 1gb........ omg......

video editing really takes a lot of effort....... for a moment if there's no sound, it feels weird

so for still pictures I had to extract sound from elsewhere to put it in......

while I was editing, tears just came down...... haha, no it's not that difficult to do until have tears....

it's cos I'm reliving the whole experience of my memories with WJ

it's like we're faraway from sg, creating memories of our lifetime in usa..... where not many ppl has done....

with the magical world of disney and universal, we're away from the reality and just have a lotsa fun =)

people there are friendly and whenever u take pictures, they will stand by the side to wait for you, you feel so priviledged and people are civilised......

in HK disneyland, I'm sorry to say those PRC (china people) just walk pass as if they are transparent

more amazingly, they even can stand beside u to take pictures too, which they are not bothered of my presence in the photo but I'm bothered by them......

and as time went on, we realised all PRC take photo while standing beside me as if i'm their friend, and WJ was curious how they take their photos

so after that we stand behind PRCs and check out their cam screen while they take...... well, i honestly think regardless of where they take the photo, it will all look the same!

cos the whole picture is either half body or full body without the background of the place......how funny! whole picture is just the face and body....

and also they shove their way thru, even in toilet.....

i rem i just finished using the toilet, open the toilet cubicle door only, haven't even step out, they shove into the cubicle, forcing me to squeeze out....... hello!??!?! i haven't even come out how u go in.......

so the whole experience is just wonderful at USA after seeing both worlds of culture........ and also thanks to WJ for all the planning......

P/S: I'm not bias for saying things about PRC, I just feel it's the process of a country that is still growing and growing very rapidly..... Sg has been thru the same culture like them (eg. spitting everywhere, litter everywhere) but time made us grow more gracious in culture ..... I'm not saying all Singaporeans are courteous and gracious, it's just in general we have learnt to be more cultured as we transformed from a developing country to a developed country.

tried to do some "Audris' Chocolate" right after my lunch......

Cornflakes.... almond nuts I roast myself... mini paper cups.... dark chocolate

But in the midst of it I encountered some hiccups, and I think the whole thing is....

SPOILT!!!!

OMG!!!!

waste my time.... and nothing to give Wj..... oh no......

after that........ for the whole day while teaching, i was waiting for evening to come..... it's such an important day.....

We arrived Vanilla Pod at Mandai.... yes very very ulu....... borrowed dad's car to come here....

its at Orchid Garden so close to the zoo, and it's like in a world of its own......away from everything!

such beautiful atmosphere........

it will be a beautiful place for ROM

It's a quiet and calm place.... a place to spend an evening with your loved ones.....

OMG......

WJ gave me roses.....

beautiful atmosphere gave me the mood to order white wine.....

do you know how many roses are there???

it's 11!

cos.... we've been together for 11 years =)

so by now u will know what occasion we are spending hehe

Lettuce with Romaine....

it's actually caesar salad....

VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD!!

i think some olive oil was used, with some cheese and great crunchy croutons.....

it's the ratio of each flavouring that gives the right taste!

Australian Hake Fish Fillet......

one look you may think there's practically no sauce how good will it taste??

I'm so wrong!!

in fact it's so well seasoned, very fresh fish.....

and it's very savoury inside out with light crisp on the outer layer....

mashed potato at the bottom of the fillets.....

omg.... I'm reliving the taste while blogging....

Tenderloin Steak

and again....... it's.......

VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD!!

haha! i know.... my vocab sound so limited... haha!!!

everytime when you're at the restaurant, you always get asked:

"how would you like your beef to be done?"

"Medium"

and how very often it's usually almost "well done" or in some cases, still bloody red "rare"

but this beef is really amazing, the outer layer is just nicely cooked, and the inside is still pink tender and juicy!

And we ordered........ CHOCOLATE LAVA!!!!

my first time trying!!

there's a portion of mango sauce and light watery cream sauce

and then when you open up the inside

a whole lot of melted chocolate flowing out........

and the brownie is not heavy and spongy, it's lightly crumbled when it's in your mouth...

and it is.......

VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD!!

such beautiful memories at Vanilla Pod is kinda disrupted by this pair of wedge....

the ok left wedge..... slim look on the feet

the not so ok right wedge......

was on my way here it suddenly start to be coming apart....

but i could still drag my way to the toilet...... and on my way back....

that's it...... off it came.....

so it's pretty tough to walk one side high, one side flat.....

look at the right feet, the covered area is like so wide and fat (Compare this to previous 2 pictures), cos it's going to fall apart soon....

just 2 more steps before I reach the car at Vanilla Pod....... the whole thing fall apart.....

the car park is very rough with soil and uneven tarred road....

have to walk on the ground a little.....

cos my wedge became 3 parts! impossible to wear n walk already! hahaha !!!

this picture is taken at my house car park, so the ground seems smooth....

so I was hoping my hp has reception to call back home for dad's SOS

cos my home's carpark is basement, so not all spots has reception...

HENG AH!!!

I can call out!!!!!!

so i decided to walk back home bare feet.......

locked the car...... and......

oh my parents called back and yes!!!!

dad came down to pass me slipper!

Wj said luckily we go Vanilla Pod, not a crowded place, imagine how am I suppose to walk back if I'm at orchard......

i know it is off topic but I just wanna share this phrase with everyone here.....

Saw this phrase in facebook, and I can't help it but click on "Like"

i had trouble doing up the video, for some weird reason it kept having the movement of the clip but without sound at certain parts...... first time encountering it.....

so in the end i managed to troubleshoot it, and it's ok!!!!

P/S: I can't stand those lousy videos on my video blog.... the copy I have is HD format 550mb and yet I have to upload a lousier quality with a 100mb limit and turns out so blur, where words cannot be read properly

I have decided to do up a youtube channel for the video blog.... so that I can upload good quality videos.....

you can still go ahead watch the videos now but in low quality if you don't mind.....

my trip starts off with a surprised proposal and then on was a tiring trip ahead....... but memorable and fun at the same time.......

I have a lot to say for every picture taken and it seems to lead from a story to another story and will be a VERY VERY VERY long story in all......

so do read the description below for each picture taken.....

videos were taken from anywhere and everywhere in USA so I decided to put together a summary of videos into my @udris: Window to my world video blog......

the one thing I don't like to upload my video to the blog is the downgraded video quality.....

I wanted to upload my videos to Youtube but I want exclusivity to only my blog viewers........

I understand that i can set videos as private and only people who are in a list are able to view.....

I don't want such hassle to approve any single person who are at my blog to ask to view it

so sigh..... have to make do with the lousier video quality.....
